Orange Liqueur
A decent replacement for Triple Sec in cocktails
A decent replacement for Triple Sec in cocktails
This is the classic tonic water recipe floating around the Internet. I personally find it a bit complicated and the lemongrass puts me off but you may like it better.
I usually buy chili powder, but occasionally I'm out, and it's not uncommon that I'll have the ingredients lying about.
Another chili recipe, with diced tomatoes so it's chunkier
I know generic curry powder is sometimes frowned upon, but this is a good, reliable spice mix that can be used jazz up chickpeas and soups.
This one comes from my friend JB. I know that Cincinnati Chili can be controversial but I'm an unapologetic fan. The trick is to manage your expectations - this is not Tex Mex chili, but rather its own thing entirely. If you imagine this dish as an exotically flavoured meat-based spaghetti sauce, you'll do much better.
Not quite as good as regular mac and cheese but healthier
A relatively simple and healthy vegetarian lasagna that I've adapted from various online sources.
This is a really versatile cheese sauce that I often use with pasta
Tasty, easy, quick, what more can you ask for?
My go to pancake recipe. Never failed me.
This one is a favorite and a crowd pleaser. You can use dry, fresh or frozen cranberries. If you use dry cranberries, you may want to up the liquid a smidge (maybe a suple of tablespoons) - they absorb a bit of the moisture.
Good, reliable recipe for buttermilk biscuits. If you have a clean surface ready to go, these are fairly quick to make.
This one comes from Nigella Lawson. More cake-y, less bread-y. I've found that's it's actually not that sticky if you bake it for an extra 5 minutes. I've never tried this recipe with golden syrup; I've only used a mixture of corn syrup and honey.
Not as densely sweet as some other gingerbreads. More bready, less cakey. Good with ice cream.
This one came with a baking pan I bought. Easy and tasty.
Make these for breakfast. Good with jam.
Easy recipe, but pretty rich so I don't make it that often. Still good for a treat once in a while.
This is a good, reliable risotto recipe, amalgamated from various sources I've found around the Internet
Delectable stuff. One of my favorite ways to use lemons. Excellent as a spread, on oatmeal, over muffins aand scones, on cake, etc.
Delicious recipe for chicken. I usually use bacon and chicken breasts (no thighs)
